money stacked in a circle

Merretts Heating Services install modern boilers that can be very energy-efficient and manufacturers claim net seasonal operating efficiencies of up to 97%. As with gas boilers, the highest rated boilers will offer the greatest efficiency, and there are many ‘A’ rated models on the market. We are a diamond accredited installer with Worcester Bosch and can offer up to a 10 year guarantee.

Merretts Heating Services will visit you, have a free of charge consultation about your needs and tailor your quote to you. Whether it’s an emergency installation, pre-planned building works or just to update your current system, we endeavour to give you the right system for your requirements.

Our friendly office staff will liaise with you directly and will guide you through the whole process from start to finish.

Once the install has finished we will then commission the boiler and show you how your new heating system works and leave all paperwork with you on site. Before we leave the property we will always make sure that you are happy with the install and go through any questions you may have.

We understand that unforeseen emergencies or even planned boiler replacements can be difficult to afford, and we wouldn’t want you to cancel your well-deserved holiday or planned treat. In these instances, we can offer several finance packages to suit your budget.

Need a new Heating System

Whether you need a replacement boiler or are starting a new project from scratch Call Merretts Heating Services for advice on which type of boiler and heating system would best suit your requirements. We can review your existing heating system to ensure that radiators are correctly positioned and large enough to heat each area, or work with your contractor to design a new system suited to your property and budget. We ensure that the smallest details are correct, from the best location for a room thermostat to using thermostatic radiator valves. It can seem like a large task but we endeavour to make the process as stress free as possible with minimal disruption to your home.

Combi Boiler

A ‘Combi’ boiler combines a high efficiency water heater and a central heating boiler in a single unit, heating water directly from the mains when you turn on a tap, so a hot water storage cylinder and a cold water storage tank are unnecessary. Cost-effective and energy-efficient as the water is heated instantly and delivered at mains pressure, giving a powerful shower without the need for a separate pump.

Benefits include:

  • Compact sizes make combi boilers ideal for smaller properties
  • Ideal where there is little or no loft space
  • No Need for a hot water cylinder or cold water tank
  • No risk of loft pipe work freezing
  • Installation typically cheaper

Regular Boiler

Regular boilers are ideally suited to homes that already have a traditional heating and hot water system linked to a separate hot water cylinder, cold water storage tank and system header tank in the loft, or pressurised hot water cylinder.

Benefits include:

  • Ideal for homes with more than one bathroom
  • Constant supply of hot water to any number of taps at the same time
  • Economical to run
  • Built-in components make installation quicker and neater
  • Hot water back up via electric immersion heater

System Boiler

System Boilers require a hot water tank and have heating and hot water system components built into the boiler itself, making it quicker and easier to install.

Benefits include:

  • Ideal for homes with more than one bathroom
  • Constant supply of hot water to any number of taps at the same time
  • No need for a loft tank
  • No worries about leaks or frost damage
  • Economical to run
  • Built-in components make installation quicker and neater

Smart controls enable homeowners to monitor and control energy usage, saving energy and money by offering a greater level of control – usually over the internet via a smartphone, tablet or computer – and more intuitive remote user interface, perfect if you’ve left for the day and you’ve forgotten to turn your heating off at home.

How do smart controls work?

Smart controls use features such as downloading weather reports to know how cold or hot the day will be, or using sensors to turning down the heating when empty, to help curb your energy use.

Do they really save money?

Yes, independent studies show Smart controls can save an average of 10-12% on heating bills.

Are there any additional benefits?

Yes, some smart controls can connect to other internet-enabled devices, turning your house into a smart home, e.g., some modern cars can recognise when you’re almost home and turn on the thermostat so that your house is warm on arrival.

No doubt you are aware what an ambassador John Green is for your company. John has been servicing our Rayburn for over 10 years and his fault finding which has recently been at the fore and his diligent approach to his work has not diminished, he continues to work to the highest standard. He is also willing to pass on any tips to help keep ones Rayburn running efficiently.
Thank you the response to me asking for help to restart the Aga. Very efficient and helpful. Helen was both (office staff).
Kyle is professional, capable and knows his stuff. I am therefore very happy with Kyle and his work ethic and am overall very satisfied. In fact, in future, I will actually ask for him by name as my preferred engineer to come out. He is a credit to Merretts Heating and did the tasks admirably well. Its always good to achieve a positive result and a satisfied customer. Kyle engendered a high level of trust with a final good, satisfaction rating.
Mr B has praised Callum for his visit to him to drain down and replace the zone valve on and Kyle for the service done.
I would like to formally record my thanks and congratulation to Merretts engineers on completion of their work at our house. The job was to remove the old heating system, based on the original installed when the house was built in 1950, and install a state of the art system. Their approach throughout was exemplary. They minimised the disturbance to us personally and to the structure of the house. This was no mean feat in itself considering the age of the old system . On the installation they showed great skill in running the new pipe work to minimise the exposure and affect on appearance It was a pleasure to have, often, four engineers around the property who were so accommodating and helpful They are a credit to Merretts in all senses Thank you for a job well done. I can thoroughly recommend your work.
